Fall 2024 Training Workshops for OK-FIRE Announced

Free OK-Fire training workshops will be available this fall for individuals in wildland fire management, focusing on applications related to wildfire, prescribed fire, and smoke. There will be two in-person options and one virtual option:

• McAlester (in-person): Thursday, October 10, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Woodward (in-person): Thursday, November 7, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Virtual: Wednesday, December 11 – Thursday, December 12, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The workshops will be led by Dr. Monica Mattox, Andrea Melvin, and guest speakers. Content will include a combination of presentations, case studies, and interactive lab exercises. Topics will cover the OK-Fire website, components of fire danger, forecast and monitoring products, real-life emergency management scenarios, and prescribed burning.

A catered lunch will be provided.

Registration is required.

Please note that the registration deadline for each workshop, virtual or in-person, is one week before the workshop date.
